When cutting fluid is used, the surface tension in the glass is significantly reduced, allowing the cutting fluid to penetrate the cutting surface more quickly and ensuring an optimal cutting result. Furthermore, the cutting fluids lubricate the cutting wheel, minimising friction and extending its service life. When cutting glass with cutting fluid, the cutting pressure can be reduced, resulting in less damage to the glass surface, which also leads to less chipping and a significantly better quality of the edges.
